Short answer
In Wausau there is a Catholic parish for the Hmong. Mary, Mother of Good Help was established by the Bishop of La Crosse in 2018, after its community had worshipped for many years as part of another parish, and it describes itself as the only Hmong Catholic parish in the United States. Its Sunday Mass is at ten.
In Milwaukee, St Michael's Sunday Mass rotates between Hmong, Karen and Karenni, the languages of families from Laos and Myanmar, alongside a Sunday Mass in English. The parish, founded by German immigrants in 1883, says it has always been a place where immigrants found a spiritual home.
Below are twenty places, every one with a street address and a link we opened ourselves: parishes, a Melkite church, Latin Mass oratories, campus ministries, young adult nights and two shrines. Wisconsin has far more parishes than this; these are the ones whose own pages told us enough.
This is cana.love, a free site for men and women looking for marriage. Catholics are not its only members; a later section explains why.
Catholics in Wisconsin
The state has five dioceses: the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and the dioceses of Madison, Green Bay, La Crosse and Superior. Madison's and Superior's main websites answered us with a bot check, so there we worked from parish and campus pages.
Milwaukee's archdiocese keeps a Mass finder that can be filtered by nine languages, from Spanish to Korean, French, Polish and American Sign Language. Hmong, Karen and Karenni each lead to a single church: St Michael.
From the parishes', the shrines' and the dioceses' own pages, opened 24 September 2026
The traditional Latin Mass has several homes. The Institute of Christ the King runs oratories in Milwaukee, Green Bay and Wausau where, according to the Latin Mass Directory, only the old rite is celebrated; the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse has a traditional Latin Mass every morning from Monday to Saturday and at nine on Sunday, beside Masses in English and Spanish; and St Mary of Pine Bluff, near Madison, has a Latin Mass every Sunday.
Near Green Bay, the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion marks the place where, it says, Mary appeared to Adele Brice in 1859. The Bishop of Green Bay declared the apparitions worthy of belief in 2010, and the shrine describes itself as the only site in the United States with an approved Marian apparition.
Where the community gathers
The twenty places sit in five regions: Milwaukee and the south-east; Madison; Green Bay and the north-east; the west, from La Crosse to Wausau and Eau Claire; and Superior in the far north.
Milwaukee and the south-east
Milwaukee and the south-east hold nine. The Cathedral of St John the Evangelist has a Spanish Mass at noon on Sunday; St Michael celebrates in Hmong, Karen and Karenni; St Stanislaus is the Institute of Christ the King's oratory; Marquette University celebrates student Masses in a fifteenth-century French chapel moved to its campus; St George is a Melkite parish; Ss Cyril and Methodius has a Mass in Polish every day; Brewing the Faith and Cor Jesu are the archdiocese's evenings for young adults; and Holy Hill is the basilica on its hilltop to the north-west.
Madison
Madison holds two: St Paul's Catholic Student Center at the University of Wisconsin, with its community for graduate students and young professionals, and St Mary of Pine Bluff to the west of the city.
Green Bay and the north-east
Green Bay and the north-east hold three: the shrine at Champion, St Patrick's Oratory in Green Bay, and Titan Catholics, the Newman Center in Oshkosh.
The west
The west holds five: the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Cathedral of St Joseph the Workman in La Crosse, the Hmong parish in Wausau, St Joseph's young adults in Menomonie, and the Newman parish in Eau Claire.
Superior
The far north holds one: the Cathedral of Christ the King in Superior, on the shore of Lake Superior.

Some places appear without a card. The Institute of Christ the King's oratory in Wausau and its Masses in Sheboygan and Burlington are listed by the Latin Mass Directory, but we could not confirm their addresses from their own pages. The Basilica of St Josaphat in Milwaukee and the Madison diocese's parishes had websites closed to us.
Distances that decide everything
A diagram, not a map. Driving times without traffic.
Milwaukee to Madison is about an hour and forty minutes, and to Green Bay a little over two hours. Wausau and La Crosse are three and a half to four hours from Milwaukee, and Superior more than seven. Inside each region distances are short: Shorewood is twelve minutes from downtown Milwaukee, Champion half an hour from Green Bay, Menomonie half an hour from Eau Claire.
So Catholic Wisconsin is several regions rather than one. The south-east, from Milwaukee to Madison, is where most of these places are, and two people there can meet in an evening. The north-east, the west and Superior each make a world of their own.
Home town and readiness to move are questions on the cana.love form, so the map is known from the start.

Dating as a practising Catholic in Wisconsin
A Hmong parish in Wausau, a Melkite Liturgy in Milwaukee, the old rite in Green Bay and Mass in Polish every morning on the south side: no single description fits Catholic Wisconsin, so cana.love lets you give your own.
Mass, fasting and Scripture, each asked
Mass attendance is a question with five possible answers, running from weekly to seldom. Fasting and reading Scripture are asked about on their own, as is the reason you joined. Each answer has its own visibility setting.
Parish and meaning, in your own words
Two fields are free text: your parish, and what gives your life meaning. A drop-down menu would fail a state where a Newman center in Oshkosh and a Hmong parish in Wausau are both someone's home.
Spanish is one of five languages
You can switch the site between English, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Russian.
Checked first, free, no password
Every new profile and photograph waits for review before anyone sees it; software looks first, and a staff member decides the doubtful cases. The rules bar members from asking each other for money, and an account used for fraud is closed permanently, with no second chance. Joining costs nothing, nothing renews, and you never set a password: each sign-in is a single-use link or code by email.
What cana.love is and is not
cana.love is not a Catholic-only platform.
Its members include Orthodox Christians, Protestants and people between churches, all looking for the same kind of marriage, and your privacy settings control who finds you. Parishes on this page receive families from Laos, Myanmar, Poland and the Middle East; a site with a narrower door would be poorer than they are. Its one promise is easy to test: faith, practice and intentions sit on every profile for you to read first. The operator is Cana SpA, based in Chile, and the About page has the details.
Meeting safely
- A first meeting belongs in daylight, somewhere public, with an end time settled in advance: coffee after Mass, or a café in the Third Ward or on State Street in Madison. Give a friend the details and, for a drive on I-94 or I-41 after dark, your expected return. Keep your address private for now.
- Money gets a single rule: before an in-person meeting, no gifts, no loans and no paid travel for anyone, however the request is dressed up. We act on one report.
The community guidelines cover what follows a report and how appeals work.
